B’s bridal shower – part two!

Last I left you with this post about the beginning stages of planning for B’s shower and left you with the wonderment:  Which invites would we select?

In the end, it was so hard to choose after scrolling through Minted‘s 170 bridal shower specific and uniquely designed invitations. One of them really communicated not only B, but the party we where trying to throw. Full disclaimer:  I love Minted, and we have ordered from them before.  I cannot say enough great things about their designs, paper quality and helpful customer service.  Therefore, when they reached out and offered to sponsor B’s shower through invitations, I jumped for joy.  All the opinions regarding Minted and these pictures are my own. We selected the Suds Shower invites, which you can buy here.  I wanted people excited about drinking cocktails out of striped straws as we toast B’s upcoming wedding with the closest women in her world.

Then one day, a box arrived on our porch.  Inside were these:

The paper was thick, with a light texture under my fingers.  Each item was wrapped up like a mini present.  Inside were two notes, one for me and a personalized one for the bride to be.  I loved that touch, so B had a special invite to her shower. That evening I turned on some of my favorite tunes and got to work with the envelopes and B’s careful excel address spreadsheet.

I’ve said it before, but I cannot be the only nerd that thinks this:  there’s just something special about receiving a bit of snail mail, with your name clearly on the envelope.  I spent some time online looking for the perfect font to replicate by hand.  {I think I already mentioned I’m a nerd.}   I found a terrific tutorial on calligraphy at jones design company.  Me and my stylist pen got to work!

Then, came the time to stuff the envelopes with the card.  Minted invites anyone to submit designs for products.  They then turn that design into a printed and customized reality that arrives right at your door.  This means they have a ton of options to chose from and constantly have fresh designs to scroll through.  It is simple but perfectly produced with a skilled eye for color.

Finally, it was sticker time.   I hunted around the USPS online website, only to find one stamp that I loved.  Luckily it was summery and in the wedding color scheme. Whew.  B is also going to use this design for the wedding invites.  Turns out we have similar taste.  : )

DSC_0842The last sicker was a new discovery for me.  I had never used an envelope wrap as a return address prior to this day.  Minted has these accessories that are matched alongside their paper products so they were the same font and colors.  It completed the mailing perfectly, giving guests a glimpse of the celebratory news we were about the share with them.   Off to the post office!

Minted, I cannot thank you enough for supporting us and inspiring the shower.  Are you in the market for invites or announcements of any kind?  What about party décor, holiday cards, art prints, or {my personal favorite} bunting banner messages for your house?

  1. The invitations WERE great, and the calligraphy made them even more special: great job! Wish I could’ve been in attendance. Still working on the Bride-to-be’s gift, but thankfully receiving lots of inspiration by reading your delightful blog and of course, Pinterest. Know that your creativity and thoughtfulness are very noticed!
