Last week I went to Virginia to visit my boyfriend Erik. Usually I try to pack in a 40 hour work week while I’m there (since he still has to go to work while I visit) in order to prolong my annual PTO, but after the craziness of work the last few weeks I vowed to take as much actual vacation as possible. During his 48 hour shift I worked a little bit, but also caught up on blogs, etsy orders, and shamelessly, watched about 15 episodes of gossip girl.

Also, his roommate recently got a kitten so I played with her nonstop. Adorbs.

While Erik wasn’t at work, we caught the Avengers, found a new sushi restaurant (hallelujah, good sushi is HARD to find in Norfolk), went on a hike near Richmond, and hit up the Stockley Gardens Art Festival. (btw I have been making ample use of both the Norfolk City Guide and Richmond City Guide from design*sponge. invaluable in a town where design is a little more obscure than I’m used to here in the west) The weather was mostly good, with a few awesome thunderstorms thrown in for good measure. It seemed like I kept forgetting my camera’s SD card, so I captured most of the trip on instagram, which i am growing more and more addicted to. Follow me @RavennaGirlB
