Our First Front Page!

Today, at oh, say, 4:39 pm (or so) one of our holiday yarn wreaths was on the front page of etsy. In the top right corner. PRIME location.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

It was crazy, actually. We watched the views go from 20 to 350 in only about 15 minutes. The item didn’t sell, but thats ok, it was fun to watch.

Virtual High Five goes out to my Sailor Man who passed his final exam for Naval Nuclear Power school today. He is now qualified to operate parts of nuclear reactors. IMpressive.

Lovely little owl

I have been seeing this little guy EVERYWHERE lately.

First sighting: 2 weeks ago. Fremont Estate Sale. The woman must have been an Avon rep because there were literally THOUSANDS of perfume bottles. Picked up the owl, but didn’t purchase since it was still full of solid scented perfume.

Second sighting: Nationale boutique from D’s last post. The wonderful hipster parisian woman running the store had it sitting on her checkout desk. Not for sale.

Third sighting: Today on etsy he stumbled upon me again (yes, thats right, its the owl who’s finding me. It must be). This particular one photo’d has been sold, but i imagine if we keep meeting this way he’s going to have to come live at our house sooner or later.

Christmas Shopping in Portland

apologies for the lack of blogging, but life has been busy.

We took a little trip to Portland {Oregon} to visit a friend this past weekend.

I love going to visit especially this time of year.

Fall is still in the air, but so is Christmas, which I love.   B and I go to Portland every year in the late fall to get a good deal of our holiday shopping done.

While we cannot share with you what we actually bought since many of our friends and family read this blog… we can tell you a few of our favorite shopping spots for when you are in the PDX…

{CLICK on the shop name to learn more…all pictures are via the shops’ websites}

Ink & Peet

fun shop and blog… filled with floral beauty and outstanding handmade housewares by all different artists. {let’s talk about how many things in this picture I want, badly.}

Nationale….

a terriffic little Burnside shop with lots of French goodies.  They also have some great vintage items!  (B will have to show you her new red shoes!)

Artemisia

a garden & gift shop.  They had the best little terrarium making supplies there!

Land

gallery upstairs.  main floor full of creative and handmade items.  Tempting jewelry, humorous t-shirts, perfect prints from talented designers.

Canoe

a favorite every time we get to Portland.   They carry tons of Scandinavian items and Heath Ceramics.  Double drool of design delight!

Oblation

Portland’s best paper store.  Letterpress, calendars, wrap galore!

Don’t worry, you can still shop online.  Though, walking around in all your Christmas delight is quite the fun!

Blog Feature

Logged onto Etsy this morning to find a convo from fellow blogger, 2sweetthings. She featured us in a Wednesday wishlist full of Turquoise and Red holiday finds. You know how i love me some turquoise and red combo, so the wishlist was right up my alley, and full of some really nice finds.

Check out her sweet blog (full of pics of her 2 adorable kiddos) and the feature including Ravenna Girls. Also, she has an etsy shop full of cute things for baby, all of which would make great shower gifts.
